Capacity Building in North America

Az-Zahraa Islamic Center in Partnership with NASIMCO held a one Self Development Workshop on "Understanding Your Unique Gifts and Abilities - Unlock Your Potential" on January 3, 2010 at the Az- Zahraa Islamic Academy in Richmond, British Columbia.

This workshop program is part of the Leadership Development Programme initiated by WF/NASIMCO with an objective to “Unlock the potential of individuals to serve the community and humanity”.

The 26 participants ranging from age 22-72, comprising of men and women, attended the workshop. The participants went through a full day of activity involving reflective exercises, interactive discussions, self assessments, role play and closing circle.

Key concepts covered were; Understanding Self using the iceberg principle, a brief introduction to Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Political Intelligence (PI) and an explanation of the Types. Participants completed the MBTI questionnaire, and group exercises to further emphasize the learning.
