NASIMCO will hold a teleconference on Saturday, September 19th, 2009 at 9:30 pm EST with Maulana Rizvi and Jamaat leaders to receive reports on the on sighting of the new moon for the 1st of Shawaal 1430 AH. We'll post any information about the moonsighting on this website.

• NASIMCO informs the community of the following status on the crescent sighting for month of Shawwal and the day of Eid-el-Fitr 1430 as was discussed on the teleconference:
  
  There was no confirmed reports of crescent sighting in North America by sunset of Saturday. Therefore, Muqallideen of Ayatullah al-Udhma Sayyid Ali Al-Husaini Sistani are to observe fast on Sunday, September 20th as the last day of Holy Ramadhan and observe Monday, September 21st as the day of Eid-ul-Fitr,
  
  For those momineen who are the followers (Muqalleed) of Ayatullah Al Khoie, Sunday, September 20th will be the day of Eid-ul-Fitr based on confirmed sighting of crescent in other parts of the World.
