Your very special gift to Imam al-Askari (a.s.) on his birthday
 10th Rabi’al Thaani marks the Wiladat of our eleventh Imam, Hazarat Hasan Askari (AS). On this blessed occasion, NASIMCO, in conjunction with The World Federation of KSIMC and in partnership with the office of Grand Ayatollah al-Uzma Seyyid Ali al-Sistani (RA) in Najaf is inviting all brothers and sisters from across the world to make a contribution to the Samarra Shrine Reconstruction Fund as a gift to Imam al-Askari on his birth anniversary.
This initiative aims to:
- Raise funds to help in the reconstruction of this sacred Haram;
- Raise awareness of the attack on this shrine;
- Symbolize the support and involvement of the Khoja Shia Ithna Asheri Muslim community worldwide in keeping the message of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) alive.
On February 22nd, 2006 at 6:55am, two explosions tore through the Holy shrine of Imam al- Naqi and Imam al-Askari (AS) in Samarra, Iraq. The force of these blasts caused severe damage to the mosque and lead the prominent golden dome to collapse. One year later, on 13 June 2007, at 9:00 am, a second explosion ripped through the same shrine, causing the mosque’s two minarets to collapse.The desecration of the sacred shrine in Samarra is of grave concern not only to Shias but to all Muslims as it is the resting place of:
- Imam Hassan al-Askari (AS)
- Imam Ali al-Naqi (AS)
- Hakimah Khatoon, the sister of Imam Ali al-Naqi (AS)
- Bibi Nargis Khatoon, the mother of Imam al-Mahdi (AS)

Your donation brings us just a little closer to the day when all of the construction is complete and all of the doors to this Holy Shrine are open for those who come from far and wide to visit our Imams.
The Holy Prophet (S) and our twelve Imams (AS) have highly emphasized the importance of Ziyarah. Ziyarah means, to visit or be in the presence of the Holy Infallibles physically and/or spiritually with the understanding that they are alive and they see and hear you. This ‘visit’ is the golden link that strengthens the connection of the believers to the Ahlul Bayt (AS).
Your gift will pave the way for so many pilgrims to get as close to our Imam both physically and spiritually.
Funds collected through this appeal will be remitted by The World Federation of KSIMC to Agha Sistani’s office in Najaf.
