The NASIMCO sponsored CPD Workshop featuring two interactive sessions on 'Pre-Marital Counseling' and 'Parenting Techniques' was a resounding success. The event was organized by the SIJNY IEB (Islamic Education Board) and hosted at the Al-Husseini center in Queens, NY on April 9th - April 10th 2010.

Participants were intrigued by the extensive evidence based research and statistical content that painted a realistic picture of the challenges that our children face and the increasingly important role of parents. Sr. Marzia Hasan was articulate and eloquent in her presentation style and enlightened the audience with pragmatic tips and case studies through a very interactive approach. This is reflected in the feedback provided by Sr. Sausan Merali-Salehmohamed that represents the general sentiment of the program:

"As parents, we found the information and specifically the parenting strategies that Sr. Marzia shared truly insightful & practical. We learned a tremendous amount and appreciated all the real life experiences and scenarios shared by the speaker and the participants which made it quite interactive!
